You can choose to work with older Australians who live independently or maybe a nursing home environment interests you more. Whatever pathway you do choose, this career gives you a chance to be a Carer, Supervisor, Coordinator or even a Manager - and make a difference to someone�s life.
Allied Health Assistant
Do you want to work in an exciting field where no two days are the same? Perhaps you have a passion for working with people undertaking exercise or rehabilitative programs? Are you interested in nutrition and supporting people to maintain a healthier lifestyle, or even in supporting people to maintain or gain greater communication through speech therapy? This is an exciting role that would allow you to work with children and adults in a range of therapy roles.
Children's Services
If you enjoy caring for children, nurturing the intellectual, social, emotional and physical needs of children and infants, then working in the Children's Services sector is likely to be a rewarding occupation for you. You will learn how to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children from birth to 12 years, based on their current interests and needs. You will be able to practise your new skills in our simulated playgroups and activities prior to participating in a work placement in the Children's Services sector.
Community Services
A career in Community Services will see you make a positive difference by providing both practical and emotional support to people and communities. If you enjoy working with others, have great interpersonal skills, a genuine interest in the welfare of others and have a keen interest in equity and diversity - this is the field for you.
Disability Services
Be part of creating a more inclusive community. If you are passionate about maintaining and maximising the independence and wellbeing of people with disabilities, this could be a satisfying career choice for you. The role of a Disability Services Worker looks at helping people with a disability through support. You will gain practical experience by participating in a work placement with a disability service provider in your region.
Education Support - Teacher Aide
If you admire the work of teachers and enjoy watching children learn, the job of Teacher Aide may be a meaningful career choice for you. The role of a Teacher Aide is to provide assistance and support to teachers and students, enhancing their lives through enrichment and fun. Teacher Aides assist with a variety of duties ranging from helping children practise reading skills to designing art projects. Helping to teach children the things they need to be successful is rewarding for both adults and children.
Enrolled Nursing
A Nursing career is one of the most rewarding and satisfying life experiences. Being part of a team, doing community-based work, acute care work in a hospital, or working in the Aged Care sector - Nursing has many employment opportunities. You will always be in demand.
Introduction to Working in Health
This course provides you with education in a range of health-related areas and is designed to give you the opportunity to explore different areas in the health industry and provide a pathway to your chosen field of health.
